Updated computation routines in order to exactly account for the pile and pier cap thicknesses in the computation of selfweight of pier column and pile and buoyancy effects. In previous versions, lengths of pier column and pile were calculated without consideration of the thickness of pile and pier caps. Thus, selfweight load and buoyancy force of the pier column and pile were overestimated.
Engine »
Added a new feature of soil weight above the buried pile-cap to automatically compute the contribution to dead load. When the pile cap is buried, the program can automatically generate distributed loads of soil weight applied to the pile cap using user-defined input parameters.
Engine »
Fixed inconsistency in node numbering of the retaining wall model between GUI and analysis engine.
Engine »
Fixed an error in the computation of transformed section to account for steel area in linear analysis. In the computation of transformed section, the steel in the section was wrongly transformed to an equivalent concrete area using the modular ratio.
Engine »
Fixed a printout error of unit in cap force/stress results in XML.
Engine »
Disabled a feature to check tension crack between retaining wall and soilback-fill (for cohesive soil) and cohesive back-fill soil is no longer available for "retained soil" option. When soil back-fill is cohesive, the previous version computed adhesion of cohesive soil and detected any tension crack along the interface between the retaining wall and the back-fill. By design, the analysis engine added one more node to locate the tension crack formation and the result was reported inconsistently in node numbering compared to GUI input. Considering that (1) cohesionless soil is almost always used for back-fill in reality and (2) crack formation due to adhesion was rather for academic purpose only, user-input of cohesion is now disabled.
Engine »
Included tension capacity In API sand TZ model. In previous version, this soil model does not have tension capacity.
Engine »
Fixed a unit conversion error in computation of mass in SI unit system for dynamic analysis. In SI system, user-input of the unit weight is KN/m3. However, the analysis was performed using N/m3, instead. This results increase of mass calculation by 1000-fold.
Engine »
Fixed inconsistency in force unit between user-defined and program soil models. For custom soil models, the force and stress units have been corrected to be consistent with the units used in the existing p-y, t-z, t-theta, and q-z soil spring models.
Interface »
Disabled the use of API tip soil models "'Driven Pile Sand (API)" and "Driven Pile Clay (API)".
Interface »
Fixed backwards compatibility issue in models created on versions 4.12c and prior. This pertains to general pier and pile bent models with bearings, that either did not have a sufficient number of nodes on the pier cap, or had no cantilevers. The result was that extra members, loads, springs, masses, and dampers, could have their location shifted when the input file was opened.
Interface »
Improved the usability of the soil edit window for Retaining Wall models. The retained soil layers and retaining wall are now scaled to be consistent with the pile length and soil layer thicknesses.
Interface »
Added an option to include soil weight above the buried pile cap. This option is available on the "Soil on Cap" dialog, which is accessed on the "Pile and Cap Page".
Interface »
Added an option to draw a user-defined pile cap thickness. This user-defined thickness is drawn in the 3D Edit Window and 3D Bridge Window, and does not affect the analysis.
Interface »
Fixed an error in node positioning to be consistent in both the edit side of the program and analysis. This pertains solely to retaining wall models, which previously had a discrepancy in nodal positioning along the wall between the edit side of the gui and the analysis.
Interface »
Added a feature to specify wall offset in the retaining wall model. This allows the user to specify the distance in the X direction between the retaining wall base and the pile cap edge.
Interface »
Added a feature to draw retained soil in 3D Edit Window. The drawing of the retained soil can be turned on or off via the window's pop-up menu. This feature pertains only to retaining wall models.
Interface »
Fixed inconsistency in node numbering between the local and global systems, when viewing soil curves at pile nodal locations in the Printable Soil Graph Dialog. In previous versions, a local 1-based node numbering system was used on the Printable Soil Graph Dialog. This has been changed such that the global node numbering system is now used on this dialog.
Interface »
Enabled the soil gap feature in computation of pile-cap bearing effect. This option is available on the "Analysis Page".
